PHYSICAL EDUCATION NEWS

Mr Carroll

The Grade 3 – 6 students have recently participated in a Judo Unit this term. Hunter Richardson and Tim waterman, coaches at the Dojo Factory in Drouin, took each class through a variety of skills and movements for four lessons. Students developed their understanding of the sport and the various competition rules, applying them when working with a partner. What a great opportunity this was and with the Olympics not too far away, I am sure the children will be keen to catch some of the action on TV. This program was conducted through funding from the Federal Government initiative, ‘Sporting Schools’. This week, all Foundation, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students will have the chance to undertake a Gymnastics Unit, made possible again by ‘Sporting Schools’.
